Volunteer Work Party at Roy Marsh Wildlife Management Area

  • Roy Marsh Wildlife Management Trailhead 5 Station Road South Hero, VT, 05486 United States (map)

We will be working together to restore South Hero’s natural areas with a volunteer work party at the Roy Marsh Trail.

The Roy Marsh Trail runs along the Island Line Railroad Bed and through the Roy Marsh Wildlife Management Area, which is owned by the state of Vermont. This two-mile trail offers the opportunity to view parts of the island’s natural landscape.

The goal for the day is to clear the trail of any sticks or fallen logs and encroaching vegetation in preparation for mowing to make it more safe and accessible for all to enjoy.

All are welcome, but please leave pets at home.

Please Bring: Water bottle, gloves (we’ll have extra), and clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. Please wear long pants and long sleeves. We have some hand tools to share, but if you have your own shovel, loppers and/or clippers, it never hurts to bring extra just in case!

We will also provide snacks and drinks.
